Man, this first post business is stressful. I want to be witty and intelligent and erudite. I suspect I shall be none of those things.

However, I shall womanfully press on, and see if it gets easier after another glass of wine - the journal title is a bit of a hint. I post after wine, never before. I need to distract the internal censor somehow.

<wait, here it comes, definitely need more wine, distract, distract>

You know how authors talk about how ideas aren't the hard part, writing is the hard part. I totally get that.

Ah, spider in the bathroom!! (this post overlaps about 3 hours, so there have been bathroom breaks) I remember a while ago, when I was enjoying insomnia (really, work had effectively made me redundant, but just had forgot to stop paying me, and there was something else going on that I didn't want to deal with and I'd just rediscovered fanfic. At the time reading all night seemed like a perfectly sensible thing to do) and I would see big spiders run across the floor. There was always that thought, have I just imagined that? It wasn't until someone found one in a glass in the kitchen that was almost the size of the glass that I realised it wasn't an hallucination. <Reason no 1 for not moving to australia> <and also, at a certain point, hallucinations are a lot of fun. Not so much when driving though>

So, yeah, spider in the bathroom. This is a point of concern for me. Mostly I'm pretty much happy to coexist with spiders. Don't make me look at you, and I won't spray lots of chemicals. But there is a thing I have about showering with spiders. It just creeps me out. It's like mice in the kitchen. Anywhere else, fine. Kitchen, not so much. <There was trapping, you should have seen the pitiful meece caught in the traps, they were so scared and I was dumping them in perfectly safe places <again, hard concept to explain to tiny little mice>>

So plans for this place. Given how often I post, I suspect that cross posting to LJ and here is redundant. I have yet to decide if I have a requirement for different kinds of posts in different places. But if I can happily move my friends page over, then this will be the primary. For I am lazy and require one place to post.

Star trek review shortly. Why should everyone else have all the fun.
